Located in Carrollton, University Stadium is the on-campus home of the University of West Georgia Wolves. Since its opening in 2009, this modern facility has been the epicenter of Wolves football, providing a vibrant and energetic atmosphere for fans and a top-tier venue for its student-athletes.
The stadium's creation was part of a larger, long-term vision to expand the university's athletic facilities. In 2003, the University of West Georgia acquired 250 acres to build a comprehensive athletic complex, with the stadium as its centerpiece. Funded through private donations and student fees, the stadium was completed in just over a year, with its inaugural season taking place in 2009. The field itself is named RA-LIN Field, in honor of a major gift to the athletic program.
Capacity: University Stadium has a seating capacity of 10,000, creating an intimate and loud atmosphere that amplifies the energy of the crowd.
Wolf Plaza: Just outside the stadium's entrance is the Wolf Plaza, which is home to a magnificent 3,500-pound bronze wolf statue. The plaza serves as the hub for pre-game festivities and the "Wolf Walk," a spirited tradition where the football team walks through a crowd of fans on their way to the field.
Multi-Purpose Complex: The stadium is part of a larger athletic complex that also includes state-of-the-art facilities for the university's soccer and softball programs, demonstrating a commitment to all of the Wolves' athletic endeavors.
University Stadium is renowned for its exciting gameday atmosphere. From lively tailgating and the "Wolf Walk" to the roar of the crowd, the stadium offers a passionate and family-friendly environment. As the Wolves transition to the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), the stadium stands ready to host a new era of competitive college football in West Georgia.
